Detail of new artwork
Saturday 2nd July 2016
This is a detail from a new piece which will become a framed artwork. It combines two repeat patterns with added motifs using Photoshop.
Half drop repeat with teal background
Saturday 25th June 2016
With this design, I have used some of the flower motifs from the study below. Using the offset filter in Photoshop I have created a half drop repeat.
Study with gouache, felt tip pens and watercolour
Monday 6th June 2016
This is how I mainly start the design process by experimenting with media, motifs and mark making. With this study I scanned it, then starting to use some of the flowers in Photoshop for pattern designs and artwork. You will see some completed designs later in my blog.
Charity auction postcard
Wednesday 1st June 2016
I have made this postcard for an auction on the 17th August 2016, which is being held to raise money for the Seagull Theatre in Lowestoft. The postcard is a patchwork of my fabric prints with added painting and printing. Have a look on Facebook for the Pakefield Postcard Auction 2016.

Subtle green background pattern detail
Monday 23rd May 2016
This green background is calm and gentle! Very much in contrast to my previous blog post image, but I like to create different moods through colour. . . . .
Bright Magenta detail
Tuesday 17th May 2016
This is a zingy version of an earlier felt tip repeat print. I am going to get this printed this week, so am looking forward to using it on a new mosaic piece.
Blue version of felt tip repeat
Sunday 8th May 2016
I thought you might like to see this version of one of my early attempts at a repeat print, which I did by cutting my design into 4 and rearranging the pieces. After scanning the design and fitting the repeat together with layers in Photoshop, I selected a nice sky blue background.
Sunny felt tip pen repeat
Monday 11th April 2016
Here is a bright colourway repeat for April!
Fine liner repeat print
Saturday 5th March 2016
I drew this design a while back with fine liners and made repeat from it by cutting the square paper into four, rearranging the pieces and sticking them back together again ( i have now learnt how to use the offset filter in Photoshop to do this!) I created this colourway and like the lilac and green contrast.
Felt and embroidery flowers
Wednesday 24th February 2016
This is a detail for a piece of pattern design I made from some felt collage flowers and leaves I created last year. I have added some digital motifs and duplicated the flowers in different sizes to form the pattern. I do like the black background as a contrast to the flowers and you can feel the texture of the felt too.
